Training and Internet Presentations
John, of Catalyst Solutions, has a strong background in education and presentations. John has been giving technology presentations on a variety of topics for more than ten years. He has entertained as well as educated all ages at all levels and has received numerous compliments on his ability to put complex technology in layman terms. His accomplishments include the development and implementation of the ‘Internet Institute’ (a series of courses to help introduce technical staff to the implementation and maintenance of Internet connectivity and applications) and his own radio show called Technology Talk.

Management Information Systems (MIS) is a term that refers to the collection, management and display of data that successfully reflects the status and operation of an organization. An organization’s MIS is not the focus of what they do, but is a major pillar in the infrastructure of the business. Catalyst Solutions has experience with several types of organizations and the MIS that support the function of those organizations. Catalyst has implemented and supported large systems and is in a good position to provide consulting with the best interests of the organization in mind.
Systems that Catalyst has provided consulting for include secondary and college systems, city and county government, utility customer tracking, small and medium-sized businesses. These systems are normally divided into to major functions: financial and application. The financial systems are similar between industries (accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, cash receipts, etc.).
The application systems are specific to the type of organization (registration, attendance, discipline, scheduling and grading for school systems; inventory, invoicing and customer tracking for product-oriented companies).
